Why Is this happening?

There's not enough power being generated to meet the demand of homes and businesses across the country. National Energy System Operator is the company in charge of operating the national electricity system. A power cut rota will be in place to help manage demand and to ensure you can plan ahead. Managing the national energy shortage in this way prevents a bigger power cut by keeping the power grid secure.

Who will be affected?

All households across Britain could be affected, including those on the Priority Services Register.

When and how long for?

There may be a series of scheduled power cuts lasting around three hours at a time. By using a power cut rota, everyone will have power for most of the day.
